The World and Ginger Buffet at Centara Grand, Central World

| October 21, 2013

“The World” and “Ginger” of the Centara Grand at Central World offer one of the most elaborate dinner buffet in town by combining Ginger’s Japanese and Chinese cuisines and the World’s international cuisine, plus free flow of alcoholic drinks. To keep the buffet consistently exciting, these restaurants also offer seven days with seven different themes. The evening we visited was “Brazilian barbecue” night with free flow of wine from South America.

Customers are free to choose where to be seated and roam free between both restaurants. I do feel Ginger has classier seating and lighting. So we made reservations for Ginger. For large groups, there are private seating at Ginger. Reservations is always recommended.

The Buffet

We started with Chinese and Japanese delicacies.

Hand rolls, maki, and sashimi. The quality of sushi and sashimi was really good.

Assortment of Japanese Teppanyaki: Salmon, pork and shrimp. They were freshly made and tasted great.

Roasted pork and duck. Crispy and succulent

Then we explored the World and found the Brazilian barbecue, which was the main theme for the evening.

We tried a couple of slices of strip loin and rib eye from the giant skewers.
Both cuts were juicy and tender but the rib eye was too fatty for our taste.

Grilled strip loin steaks from the grill were tender. The quality of the beef was great, there were many variety of sauces too.

Two wines were offered for free flow: Sauvignon blanc and merlot from Chile,  that paired well with the food.

ginger_centara07

Assortment of Indian cuisine, vegetarian masala, tandoori chicken, and sambal with nan and rice.

Even though we were almost ready for our dessert we could not resist trying the tasty tagliatelle meat sauce.

Assortment of desserts cakes, ice cream, pastries and a huge chocolate fountain.

The combination of international theme and Asian fare, including a free flow of alcoholic drinks is definitely hard to beat for the price of only 1490++. The variety and quality of food, the ambiance and the city view they have it all. You just have to experience this by yourself.
