The Best Ways To Enjoy Bangkok

| January 4, 2019

Bangkok has to be one of the most exciting cities in the world. The capital of Thailand is full of adventure, with so many fascinating things to see and wonderful people to meet. Yet it’s not all about partying and activities. Bangkok can also be the ideal place to unwind and relax if you’re looking for the best of both worlds. Below are some of the best things you can do in Bangkok, and there are plenty more to try!

See The Reclining Buddha
The Buddha is a figure of enormous significance in Thailand, and you are sure to see statues of him everywhere you go. Some are tiny, some massive, but none are quite like the figure you can see when you visit Wat Pho temple, as recommended by Lonely Planet, because this is where you will find the Reclining Buddha. This magnificent statue is 15 meters tall and a staggering 46 meters long. It is covered in gold leaf and is utterly awe-inspiring when you are able to get close up to it.

Visit The Grand Palace
Perhaps the most famous attraction in Bangkok is the Grand Palace. This was once the home of the king, and it was there Thailand’s government sat to pass laws. Now it is open to the public, and it is worth taking an entire day out of your vacation to visit since it covers 214,000 square feet. The building is beautiful, inside and out, and no visit to Bangkok is complete without visiting here.

Ride The Sky Train
There are many ancient monuments and antique buildings to explore in Bangkok, but it is also famed for being up to date (even futuristic) with its technology, and the Sky Train is a prime example of this. Air-conditioned carriages will transport you around the city from the air, meaning you can get a fantastic view of everything happening below you. You won’t have to worry about getting caught in traffic (Bangkok is notoriously busy when it comes to vehicles on the road), and you can experience life in the air which is great fun.

Enjoy A Luxury Hotel
Bangkok is home to some of the most gorgeous luxury hotels in the world including The Peninsula, the Shangri-La, and the Sukhothai. Book yourself into one of these, or any other five-star accommodation, and you can relax in total comfort. Take the time to do whatever it is that makes you happy, whether it’s reading a good book by the pool, resting in your perfectly appointed room playing Unibet, or eating sumptuous food in one of the grand restaurants.

Bangkok has been called the ‘Venice of the East’, and once you see the Chai Phraya River, you will understand why! It is made up of dozens of small canals, and ferries and small boats chug up and down it all day long. For many people, this is the only way they can get to work. As a tourist, you don’t have to worry about getting to the office, so you can enjoy a leisurely boat trip along the Chai Phraya River and relax in style and comfort.
